| THE AMENTA To Start Mixing n0n. |
|
|
 |
Amenta writes "Australia's extreme industrial metal collective THE AMENTA will enter The Vault Studios in Sydney, Australia this week to mix its latest release, "n0n", with longtime engineer Lachlan Mitchell (NAZXUL).
Mastering for the album will take place at Studios 301 with Australia's premier mastering engineer Steve Smart.
THE AMENTA describes the new album's sound as a fusion of extreme metal, electronic noise and dub. The follow-up to 2004's "Occasus" will feature 12 tracks in total, including "Skin", "Rape", "Cancer", "Whore", "Dystrophy", "Atrophy", "Slave", "Vermin", "Dirt", "Spine", and "Junky". With each song featuring over 100 actual recorded tracks, THE AMENTA's new album pushes technology to its absolute limits.
The recording of the album spanned three different countries and seven different studios. "n0n" contains a myriad of different contributors and performers with no less than two drummers, six vocalists and two bass players recording on the album which features guest appearances from Jason Mendonca (AKERCOCKE), Alice Daquet (SIR ALICE), Alex Pope (RUINS) and more."

PSYCROPTIC & Soundworks Management are proud to announce that as of Friday June 20th 2008 Tasmania’s own PSYCROPTIC are officially signed to Nuclear Blast Records worldwide and Stomp for Australia for the new full length album due out this October!!!!
US A&R Gerardo Martinez about the signing: "We are beyond excited to be working with one of the best Technical Death Metal bands in the world right now. We feel the band will reach the status they deserve in a short period of time. Also the band is euphoric about the cooperation."

realm, and to be signed with them is a huge honor for us...and to be the first Tasmanian band to ever be on the label is a pretty awesome bonus as well."
"The artist roster is nothing short of amazing, and for Psycroptic to be added to it... well, we couldn't be happier!!” – Dave Haley
Stomp Australia had the following comments:
Label Manager Darren Cherry commented. "Psycroptic are a pioneering and ever progressing force in extreme metal and Stomp are proud to be releasing their upcoming fourth studio album which we believe will take them to an entirely new level on a global scale".

| Heavy Metal Guitarist Charged Over Crash. |
|
|
 |
lukelord writes "The bass player of Victorian heavy metal outfit THE RED SHORE is facing court charges over a bus crash that killed two of his band mates late last year, NSW police say.
The band's minibus left the Pacific Highway and crashed into a tree at Moonee Beach, near Coffs Harbour, in NSW, about 7am (AEDT) on December 19. The band's 27-year-old lead singer, Damien Morris, died at the scene.
Andy Milner, the band's 22-year-old merchandiser, died in hospital after being trapped in the wreck for an hour.
Six others, all men aged between 19 and 26, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the single vehicle crash and were taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
The Geelong - based band had been attempting the 1,000 KM journey to Sydney for a gig after playing the night before in Brisbane.
Bass player Jamie Hope, 21, was allegedly at the wheel at the time of the crash. A NSW police spokesman said the Geelong man had been summonsed to Coffs Harbour Local Court on August 4.
He will face two counts of negligent driving causing death and three counts of negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm. The charges come as The Red Shore gear up for a 24-show national tour starting on May 22 in Adelaide with Hope filling in on vocals."

| MORTAL SIN Return From a Successful Tour Of Europe With OVERKILL. |
|
|
 |
Legendary Australian heavy metal band MORTAL SIN have sent in the following update to HailMetal.Com e'zine regarding their tour of Europe with OVERKILL:
"The month of March will be remembered by MORTAL SIN as the most successful venture away from their home territory ever when they supported U.S. thrash legends OVERKILL through 15 shows in Europe. Beginning with two Metalmania Festivals headlined by MEGADETH in The Czech Republic and Poland, the tour then rolled into the former capital Munich. With many of the shows being sold out, Overkill vocalist Bobby Elsworth paid tribute to Mortal Sin as "a perfect match up for Overkill, a great package for promoters...- we tried for months to get Exodus as the support, but you know what? Fuck Exodus, Mortal Sin have done way better than we would have hoped Exodus would do!" Overkill made Mortal Sin more than welcome and fun times were had in each of the cities we played."
"By the time the tour reached Essen (home town of Kreator), the crowds were getting louder and louder for Mortal Sin. It was like a time machine had transported us all back to 1987 - wristbands, denim jackets, hair flying everywhere and bodies landing on the stage non stop throughout the Mortal Sin and Overkill sets. In Gothenburg, Sweden on the last show of the Overkill tour Mortal Sin were invited up on stage to sing "Old School" with Bobby and the gang, such was the respect shown - the offer was accepted and the respect returned!'
"From Sweden Mortal Sin travelled North to Oslo in Norway for the 2008 Inferno Festival, one of the most important Scandinavian metal festivals, this year featuring Onslaught, Behemoth, Vreid, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Unleashed, 1349, Overkill and Destruction among others. At minus 4 degrees, it was the coldest night of the tour and the streets were covered in Ice. Mortal Sin opened the main stage in the Rockefeller Centre and won over the predominantly Black Metal crowd with a blistering set which was recorded on CD and will be soon be released as an official Live Bootleg. It was a brilliant end to a brilliant tour."

| DOBULE DRAGON: Enter Studio To Record Debut Album. |
|
|
 |
DoubleDragon writes "Australia's DOUBLE DRAGON have entered the studio to record their highly anticipated debut album titled 'Devastator'.
After releasing their debut EP 'Scars Of Fire' in 2006, the critically acclaimed release took the band to new heights, headlining shows across Australia and also landed them supports with international metal acts Slayer, Mastodon, Cephalic Carnage, Black Dahlia Murder, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and also landed them a spot on the Australian music festival, The Big Day Out. Double Dragon have returned to the studio with producer Ian Miller, promising to make a work of metal that will stand the test of time and cement Double Dragon in Australian metal history.
As for the songs, vocalist Lee states "This is our heaviest work to date, and in hindsight its probably the sound we have been searching for since day 1. There are new elements to the songs, alot more experimentations but at the same time we have concentrated on our strengths, which essentially is twin guitar harmonies, groove and lots of melodic riffs".
"Lyrically the songs are darker, and the vocals will be a heavier than previous Double Dragon releases, but we have also written a couple of ballady type tracks, more classic rock in the vein of mellow Black Sabbath. We will always be a metal band, but the freedom of playing metal music gives us alot of room to experiment with different sounds, and I think our weed smoking fans will understand where we are coming from with the mellow tracks. I really feel these songs are going to be great live, and I cant wait to hit the road again and show the world a good ole fashioned Australian metal ass kicking".
'Devastator' is due for release in June 2008."
