Germany have won this final in 1996 and finished 3rd AT HOME in 2006 and are now in the final again - so they've had enough wins for a decade.
Spain who have won it in 1964 and been in the final in 84 and lost deserve to win it this time. They kept loosing on penalties in QF or osmething recently. I think they have great quality as they play in the best league in the world (SPANISH) heheh + a few in England. Dont get me wrong I like Germany but from football perspective let Spain win. they play fast passing game... good to watch.
Also - does it get any easier for Australia than this?
Top 2 from each group go to the world cup direct while 3rd place teams play eachother with winner of that to play New Zealand most likely. Group B is a group of DEATH. Each of those teams deserve to go to the WC2010. |

I cant believe it.
By the second half it didn't even look like Germany wanted to win.
It was a pretty classy goal though, full credit to Torres, he's a great player.
And as for Australia's qualifying round, no it doesn't get any easier, they should be looking to top the group, if not then finish 2nd and go straight through. If they fail with this group there will be some serious questions raised. |

It would be pretty ironic if they played NZ for the 5th Asian place haha
Spain were the best team in the competition, followed by Russia and Holland. |

Michael Ballack history (Germany)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ballack
2002 was a season of disappointment for Bayer Leverkusen (where he played). In the German Bundesliga the team surrendered a five point lead at the top of the table over the last three games of the season to finish second behind Borussia Dortmund, lost the Champions League final 2-1 to Real Madrid, and lost the German Cup final 4-2 to Schalke 04.
He was a beaten finalist with Germany in the 2002 World Cup, although Ballack was suspended for the Final itself. Brazil won the final.
2008 season ended on a low note for Ballack as Chelsea finished runners up in the Carling Cup, Premier League and UEFA Champions League. This completed a treble horror for Chelsea and Ballack. On 29th June 2008 Germany, captatined by Ballack, lost to Spain 1-0 in the final of Euro 2008. This became the second season in Ballack's career that he was runner up for 4 major trophies.
Talk about bad luck!!! |

Was reading in the paper the other day about Ubekistan bieng a bit of a unknown quantity, as well as the difficulties the Socceroos are going to face to get there, apparently it is going to be something like a 48 hour trip for them to reach the capital city. |
