Drudkh’s next album will not be released by Supernal Music. It seems a failed business partnership in Kharkiv involving the purchase of a studio led to the members incurring serious personal debts, which, despite substantial payments arising out of healthy album sales, their royalties were unable to cover. The only solution for the band was to offer “Microcosmos” to another label, in exchange for a comfortable settlement.
Season of Mist is proud to announce the freshly inked deal the label signed with play Slavonic heathen metal band Drudkh. Their cinematic, folk-influenced music focuses on a strong atmosphere with a lot of feeling, and the lyrical contents are about nature mysticism, seasons, philosophy, Ukrainian mythology, legends and history. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth and twentieth centuries Ukrainian poets.
Drudkh's upcoming album, “Microcosmos”, is set to an early 2009 release.

i lost interest in what they were doing after autumn aurora. they seemed to lose their raw natural sound and became a little too produced and intentional. |

I'll admit that much of the recent stuff is relatively rehashed, though not to say that the riffs and composition aren't superb. However Mike, I really believe you're missing out if you're dismissing Blood in Our Wells, which is a remarkable album, and by far my favourite in their discog. I'd rate it several levels above any of their other work.
Looking forward to the new one. |
