Yeah Log is red hot. Saw them at MFTB a few years ago. Do you have any info on the band Granny Fist from Newie? Never heard of them, haven't seen them in the local gig guides for around here... |

Nah, don't know anything about Granny Fist.
I saw Log for the first time at MFTB too and I see them any time I can now. I love their work. The bass player from Log also plays in Looking Glass and they are two of my favourite Australian bands.
Should be a new Log album this year apparently. |

We've gigged twice with them and will be playing with them again Friday June 20th at Tits n Grind, Lewisham. What did you want to know about them? |

There used to be a grind band in Newcastle a few years ago called Mike Hunt. Saw them once , they supported Abbadon Incarnate from Ireland at the Cambridge. All the dude had flannos on.... wonder if its the same band... |

Dunno. Grannyfist take to the stage with plastic bags over their heads. They do wear flannos but that's pretty much standard pub band attire anyway usually.
The singer Luke is in another band called the Clap who do a few gigs around Newie (they're in a similar vein lyrically, but more punk than grindcore.... unlike Grannyfist, the Clap can actually get gigs at venues other than the Hamilton). He also does a noisecore project called Drillbit. |

There was a band of young guys I went to see in Newcastle that impressed me last year.
They were called the Amazing Arse Clowns. I was pretty much the only one there when they played and they couldn't belive I came from Sydney to see them!!!
Do you guys know if they are still around? |

Yeah, it melted my face!!!
Fucking excellent day of Metal at Sydney Uni. Highlights for me were Grannyfist, LOG, Looking Glass, Ebolie, Pod People and Blood Duster. Plenty of other good stuff too.
I was hanging around with a couple of the Granny Fist guys and they are funny cunts. They stood out with their comedy.
Australian Metal is alive and well. Anyone attend? |
