PORTAL are set to play a rare headlining show at the
BALD FACED STAG HOTEL in SYDNEY
on Saturday Feb 6th 2010.
It will be the first opportunity outside hometown Brisbane for fans to hear new material from current release SWARTH (Profound Lore) live.
This show will be a special event with atmospheric death metallers ULCERATE (NZ) performing on the bill.
Supports will be grind architects BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE and death metal sledgehammers DAEMON FOETAL HARVEST.
This is likely to be the only local Australian show before PORTAL head to perform at MARYLAND DEATH FEST in MAY 2010.
There is no death metal band on the face of the planet that can even match the aesthetic power that Australias Portal emit. Easily one of the most original and unique death metal acts that have ever existed, the world of horror that Portal create holds a power that such films like Fritz Langs M, Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho, Murnaus Nosferatu, and Salvador Dalis Un Chien Andalou possess. Picture a more twisted, subterranean, and warped Immolation with the catacombic power of Disembowelment, and the unforgiving rawness of Beherit, and this is just a glimpse of where Portal dwell on a musical level. Also known to put on a devastating and surreal live show, one that mirrors the music that the band create, Portals surreal and twisted cinematic vision is why they are considered to be the future of death metal. A band that will take the death metal genre, invert it, twist it inside-out, skinning its layers, creating a monster of utter devastation.
Portals current release Swarth, paints a disturbing mind-numbing cinematic scenario of unease. Like an ancient silent art film gone terribly wrong, directed by someone who has managed to escape a Turkish prison and gone mad after many years of being subjected to torture and humiliation. Or a scenario akin to an ancient abandoned boarded up asylum where damp and rotting walls creak, leak, and have trapped the tortured ghosts of memorys past who have yet to be freed from the torment that will forever plague them. Of course the Lovecraftian presence, just like all other Portal releases, is ever apparent with Swarth, its infectious tentacle-like character hovering like that powerful and ominous presence that has descended from the stars. A presence that we can only adhere to.
How do I use my yahoo account to make a youtube account? I recently tried to make a new youtube account, but to my surprise they wouldn't let me use my yahoo account. I don't want to use the google account they want me to so what do I do I love youtube, but hate google. Please help me so that I can use the beloved youtube.
